LDSS Funding Information Hub

Welcome to the LDSS Funding Hub – your go-to resource for everything related to the Learning and Development Support Scheme (LDSS). This page is designed to help Adult Social Care employers understand and access the full range of funding opportunities available under the scheme.

Eligible adult social care employers in England can claim staff training costs from the LDSS in financial year 2025 to 2026. The funding is available for non-regulated care staff, including deputy and Care Quality Commission-registered managers and agency staff, within the adult social care workforce.

Updated information, including guidance for employers and a list of courses and qualifications eligible for funding, has been published on the Government website.

LDSS funding is administered via an online claims service, delivered by NHSBSA. Adult social care employers must first sign up to use the claims service by completing the onboarding form. After signing up, employers will be contacted by NHS BSA as soon as possible to book an onboarding appointment.

Webinar: Making the most of funding for training in 2025–26

We were joined by DHSC and NHSBSA to share key information about accessing funding for staff training through the LDSS in 2025-26.

Sarah Fenton, Head of Adult Social Care skills, learning and development at DHSC, spoke about why this support is so important for the sector and how it aligns with DHSC’s broader priorities.

Attendees also heard from a social care provider who claimed LDSS funding in 2024-25, and their experience of the process and the benefits.

The webinar provided a detailed walkthrough of the practical aspects of accessing LDSS funding, including:

  • the eligibility criteria and evidence requirements for making claims through the scheme

  • how the funding can be used, including eligible training courses and qualifications

  • the process for accessing the fund and submitting claims

  • a demonstration of the online claims service.
