Medication (Train the Trainer)

On completion of this Medication Administration course, learners will be a qualified trainer in this subject and should know and understand the following:

  Understand different classifications of medicine such as GSL, P and POM

  Learn about the relevant legislation regarding medicine including the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and The Human Medicines Regulations 2012

  Know what your responsibilities are as a care worker regarding medication, including what procedures to follow and how to report any concerns or changes

  Learn the 5 Rights of administration and what should be included in a good administration process
• Storing and disposal
  How to safely store and dispose of medicine

  The need for proper record keeping and information sharing
• Your role, as described by the CQC
  Understand what your role is as described by the CQC
• Teaching methods
  Deliver sessions with different teaching methods to suit the classroom
• Learning methods
  Understand different learning styles and when is the best time to use them
• Retain information
  Learn how people retain information
• Feedback & Evaluation
  How to evaluate appropriately, and give and receive feedback to the learners
• Ice-breakers
  Learn different ways to 'break the ice' with the whole classroom

  Confidently present your session to others
